As we continue to read, we see more and more what an important role the Catholic Church plays in the daily lives of the Irish. Think of some of the behaviors to support this sentence, like: Frank started his religious instruction and recieved his first communion.
Also, think about why this was such an important day for the children, their families and the Church itself? In addition, reflect on why Frank's grandmother was so angry that he vomited on this day.

This day was for Frank's family really important: to be part of the Holy Roman Catholic and Apostolic Church for who many people have died. And for the children it was happy too because they could do the collection and go to the teather. They believed that the wafer is the body of God, and it was unaccepted to throw it out, meaning that he was unholy that he could not kept it inside of him ( I think ). ERIKA
The Catholic Church plays an important role in the Irish people. For example, we can see that the masters have strong influence in their students about Catholicism. In page 117, Mr. Berson told the students that they had to know a lot of things to make their First Communion. They had to know the catechism backwards, forwards and sideways. They have to know the Ten Commandments and so on.
This is an important day for everybody in Ireland because it is when new believer in God' son are going to receive the wafer, the body, and blood of him.
Grandma was so angry that Frank vomited on this day because he thrun up his First Communion breakfast. She said that he thrun up the body and blood of Jesus. She had God in her backyard and that was not good.
I think this day is very important to the parents because it is the first son from the family Maccourt who did the first comunion and they are very happy because his son is going to be part of the church. I think for Frank the most important reason about his first comunion is because this day he can do the collection, and go to the cinema to see the movie with one of the best actors in that time. I think that for the church it was so important because it's going to integrated new members to the church, and the Catholic Religion is going to be bigger. Frank's grandmother she was mad at him because she thought that Frank vomited the body and the blood of Jesus in her yard. She was also mad because Angela said that Frank can go to the cinema, but his grandmother said that he can't go because he is not a proper Catholic. In conclussion she was mad because they disobey her.
Obviously, The Catholic Church plays a very important role not only for the McCourt its also important for the Irish, the masters have a lot of influence on the children because they told them tht they have to learn all about Catholism.
The children was so happy not only because they were going to do their First Communion, too they could do The collection and get some money.
It was a tragedy for the grandma when Frank threw up all the breakfast in her backyard because at first he practically threw up Jesus (the body blood of him) and she did know what to do if she had to clean it or what ( i think that was so...dramatic) and she was so mad because Angela and Frank disobeyed her when Angela let Frank go to the cinema.
one of the most important thing for all the irish's family is being catholic, therefore most of the children must go to the catholic school because they have to get ready for the first communion. for frank was very important to received the body and the blood of god,he felt very proud of himself and for the society that he lives within.
it was an important day for the children because they were very anxious to make the collection. for the family also was very important because frank was the first son giving the first communion in the family.for the church because they were accepting a son of god and they wanted to follow the catholic custom.
frank's grandmother was so angry because he had thrun up his first communion breakfast, and the body and blood of jesus..He couldn't prevented because he felt the food churned in his stomach that's why he had thrown up ....liliana
